Two people have died after they were hit by a tour bus this morning in To Kwa Wan and dragged under the vehicle.

Oriental Daily reports that the bus was driving in the slow lane of Ma Tau Kok Road when the driver suddenly “lost control” near Pak Tai Street, crashing into a KMB 106 double-decker bus, a set of traffic lights, and two pedestrians just before 10am. The pedestrians, one man and one woman, were dragged underneath the vehicle for around 15 meters and had to be freed by responding firefighters.

The woman was confirmed dead on the scene. The man, reported to be around 40 years old and of South Asian descent, was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment but did not survive.

The bus is understood to have been carrying around 30 visitors from a mainland Chinese tour group. The scene has been cordoned off for police investigation.

This story is still developing.
