Two Cathay Pacific pilots die in violent Hong Kong Porsche crash

Two Cathay Pacific pilots have died after being trapped inside a burning Porsche following an accident in Kwai Chung this morning.

The fatal crash occurred at 4:40am on Container Port Road South, where the vehicle lost control, crashed into a bridge nearby and caught fire, reports SCMP.

The deceased, both aged 27, were trapped in the wreckage, their bodies badly burnt when retrieved by paramedics.

Police are continuing their investigation, focusing on the car’s speed, the driver’s health and whether the vehicle braked abruptly before the accident.

No trace of alcohol was found at the scene or at a nearby area where the men had reportedly been chatting with friends for hours.

Cathay Pacific issued a statement of condolence to the victims’ families this morning but declined to comment any further.
