The news director of TVB has denied that he has ever used Ashley Madison, a dating website for people who cheat on their spouses, after his email turned up in a batch leaked by hackers.
Rumours that Keith Yuen is a patron of the site were rife after the data dump last Wednesday by a hacker group calling itself Impact Team.
Among the numerous Hong Kong email addresses, netizens noticed one beginning with “Yuen” and ending in “tvb.com.hk”.
Yuen has admitted the email address is his but denies that he’s ever used the site, according to Apple Daily.
He claimed he’s received lots of unwanted messages since his work email address was posted on HK Golden forum during last year’s Occupy protests.
Yuen was unpopular among the pro-democracy camp after he removed references to police allegedly beating hand-cuffed protestor and Civic Party member Kevin Tsang in a video.
Seven TVB journalists resigned as a result.
