Groups protested against TVB’s hegemony outside the TV stations headquarters in Tseung Kwan O during its anniversary celebration yesterday.
The protesters were dissatisfied withTVB’s monopolisation of the TV market, which they believe has led to Hongkongers lack of choice when it comes to TV programmes and channels. Protestors were also irritated with TVB artist Natalis Chan Pak-cheung’s speech in which he believed that netizens’ anti-TVB campaign was “doomed to fail”.
Conflicts arose as the protesters refused to stay in the designated protest area set by the police. They later continued their protest at another side of the TVB headquarters.
