Our very first chief executive, Tung Chee Hwa, gave a press conference yesterday during which he praised CY Leung’s policy address.
He also, most unfortunately, compared Hong Kong’s political development to women’s suffrage and civil rights in the US.
Yuen Chan, a journalist, tweeted her dismay at Tung’s remarks:
Kris Cheng, another journalist, also tweeted the following:
Oh, man.

Believe it or not, he’s not the first politician to make such a ghastly comparison.
Laura Cha, a member of the Executive Council (meaning she advises CY Leung), said something similar (and arguably, worse) back in October.

Do you think these people can hear themselves talk?
