Train fares might go up by 3.6 percent in June

Sigh! Hong Kong’s Mass Transit Railway Corporation may raise train fares by as much as 3.6 percent in June.

Despite the major disruptions on the Tsueng Kwan O and East Rail lines this year, the MTRC is expected to increase their prices by 3.6 percent, after taking into account Consumer Price Indexes and recent wage indices.

Last year, the 2.7 percent price hike was enforced.
