Total Recall: Bean drinks flicked from Hong Kong shelves after failing food safety tests

Two seemingly-healthy bottled bean drinks have been recalled in Hong Kong after failing tests by the Centre for Food Safety.

Organic Black Bean Drink and Organic Soybean Drink with Brown Rice with use-by dates of Aug. 13 (to be fair, you should have drunk it by now anyway), were found to be contaminated with Bacillus Cereus, a volatile human pathogen that can cause illness.

Samples were taken from the products, both of which are produced by the ironically-named HealthWorks company. The manufacturer has since suspended sale and production, and initiated a recall.

Customers still in possession of the drinks are advised to throw them away and seek a refund from HealthWorks.
