An African man, 26, who is a torture claimant (someone seeking asylum on the ground of torture), allegedly stabbed his South Asian girlfriend, 36, in the neck with a fork last night, reports Apple Daily. His girlfriend is also a torture claimant.
The couple of six years had a dispute at their home in Nai Wai, Tuen Mun, at around 11pm. Apple Daily says the man’s first name is Sanoh while the woman’s is Tri.
Another African man, who was on the phone with the woman while the couple was fighting and grew concerned, arrived on the scene. He found Tri lying on the bed with the fork in her neck, and Sanoh supposedly trying to escape. With the help of a neighbour, the second man stoped Sanoh from leaving.
Sanoh was arrested on suspicion of assault. The Tuen Mun District Crime Squad is investigating the case.
The woman is in critical condition. She arrived at the hospital with the fork still embedded in her right carotid artery.
