Last night acclaimed jockey 23-year-old Matthew Chadwick fell off his horse in the final straight of the fourth race at the Jockey Club racecourse.
According to the Apple Daily, Chadwick was unconscious when medical teams rushed to assist him. He was sent to the Queen Mary Hospital shortly after and is currently in stable condition. Doctors reveal he suffered from leg and head injuries and will stay in the hospital for further tests.
Chadwick was fined HK$3,000 last month for damaging a coach after a party in Sai Kung last year. He is married to his 21-year-old wife, the couple are expecting their first child this July.
