Toddler survives 2-meter staircase fall

A woman saw a mother drop her two-year-old daughter from the top of a two-meter staircase at Sha Po Tsai village in Tai Po yesterday morning. Luckily, the toddler was unharmed since she was wearing thick clothes, which softened the fall, but was hysterical and needed to be comforted by a plainclothes police officer.

The mother became emotionally unstable when arrested and was strapped to a stretcher to be taken to the same hospital as her daughter, where the toddler will be observed. She was provisionally charged with child abuse after the incident an authorities are now trying to contact the family and relatives of the mother and daughter.
