Festival City in Tai Wai
A number of apartments at Cheung Kong’s new development Festival City in Tai Wai were built so sloppily that it horrified tenants shortly after moving in.
In one apartment, more than 16 large pieces of tiles exploded, spraying an elderly person with bits of flooring.
This is not the first time that Cheung Kong has been exposed in the media for offering poorly built apartments.
According to the tenant Sun, his mother suddenly heard a rumbling and felt the floor shaking like an earthquake. The tiles started splitting apart with cracks appearing on the floor and entire pieces of tiles popped up, spraying his Sun’s mother with flecks of tile.
