They’d had it up to here.
Three elderly folks brought the wrath of their generation to bear on a younger commuter recently, berating the woman with for taking up too much space on the MTR.
Caught on camera, the seniors’ verbal smackdown happened on a West Rail Line train over the weekend, and footage has since done the rounds on social media, where some have sided with the gesticulating geriatrics and others feel their righteous rage may have gone too far.
The encounter shows three people yelling at a younger woman for having her legs crossed and outstretched, blocking everyone’s way and not adjusting her position to let others pass.
The argument begins with two people yelling at her and pointing at her legs before they are joined by a man wearing a black and white checkered shirt, who, keen to get on the action, walks through the train carriage and lets fly with some yelling and pointing.

The trio criticise the woman for being “arrogant”, with one person adding “she has no idea what manners are.”
Meanwhile, the younger woman can be heard talking back, but her responses are hard to hear over the yelling.
Some netizens were amused that the man in the checked shirt — who had nothing to do with the fight in the first place — actually made his way down the carriage to give the woman a piece of his mind. Most people were torn over who to side with in the video.
A lot of people said the woman should have been more spatially aware and uncrossed her legs, but others argued “although her legs were blocking the way, the elders didn’t need to make such a fuss.”
