After a dramatic U-turn on its decision to cancel the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon, the organizer of the race, the Hong Kong Association of Athletics Affiliates, has finally confirmed that it will be back on Feb. 12, 2023, after receiving official approval to stage the event.

The association added there is a tentative enrolment quota of 25,000.

Similar to previous editions of the marathon, this year’s will include three event categories – the Marathon, Half-Marathon and 10KM – and overseas elite athletes are being invited.

Traditional race routes will be adopted with both the Marathon and Half Marathon starting from Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, while the 10KM races will begin at the Island Eastern Corridor. All races will finish at the Victoria Park in Causeway Bay.

Registration will commence in phases from early November. Stay tuned to the organizer’s website for details.
