Superheroes, they’re just like us. Or at least, the people pretending to be superheroes are.
Earlier today, pedestrians on Fa Yuen Street in Mong Kok were rather tickled — and perhaps even starstruck — when a Batsuit-wearing man appeared and proceeded to rather awkwardly wipe a car.
We’re not entirely sure if he was driving the car in question (which was bearing P plates, no less), or if he was just aghast at an errant smudge. While the sleek black Audi definitely doesn’t look like the Batmobile — not the black and red Lincoln of Adam West’s time, nor the souped-up military-esque Tumbler of the Nolan era — who can blame the guy for wanting something a little more inconspicuous for his day-to-day errands around Ladies’ Market?
Although, perhaps next time he should consider ditching the pointy-eared helmet for a little added anonymity…
To be fair, due to his noticeable lack of superpowers, it appears that in dear ol’ Bruce Weezy’s case, clothes (and an enormous armoury) really do maketh the man.
Viewers of NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation will be familiar with the concept of a more prosaic Batman, with one memorable scene featuring a character dressed as the caped crusader, resetting his internet router at the behest of his roommates.
In addition, another episode sees a rather literal radio host characterise the dark knight as a “strong gentleman who fights crime nocturnally”. Way to go Parks and Rec, for humanising our friendly neighbourhood vigilante playboy.
