Teenager who died after Repulse Bay fall ‘had never been to school’

A 15-year-old girl who fell to her death from a Repulse Bay apartment this morning had never been to school, according to reports.

Sources revealed to the SCMP that both the girl and her younger sister have no birth or travel documents and have never been registered with a school.

Their 58-year-old British father and 53-year-old Filipino mother were arrested on suspicion of ill treatment of a child after the girl’s body was found at 3 Repulse Bay this morning.

One source claimed the girl locked herself inside the bathroom at around 1:45am and fell from the window as her parents tried to get inside.

Police say that no suicide note was found and there are no suspicious circumstances.

The couple, who got together after the woman came from the Philippines to work as the man’s domestic helper in 1990, are, however, being investigated.

The woman is also said to have been arrested for overstaying her travel document, while her husband is under suspicion of helping her do so.

The crime squad is also investigating why the two girls do not have proper documents and have never been to school, although it is thought they saw private tutors.

The younger girl is now reportedly staying with friends of the family.
