Less than two weeks ago a 14-year-old kid was arrested for smuggling a kilo of ketamine. Last month a 12-year-old girl was caught in an undercover sting for selling counterfeit goods. What’s up with kids these days? Or rather, what’s up with organised criminals enlisting children to do their dirty work?
This time, it’s a 19-year-old who’s involved. He’s not quite a child, but he should still be in school instead of being a drug mule. He was arrested yesterday at the Lok Ma Chau Control Point after 1.27kg of meth was found strapped around his waist. The estimated street value of the drug stash is HKD724,000, which is surely enough to fund the guy’s university education. We’re guessing that’s not where the money is going, although the teen did claim to be a student.
He will be charged with drug trafficking and will appear in court today.
