Large impromptu gatherings of Pokémon Go players have become commonplace in Hong Kong ever since the augmented reality game launched here last month. Dozens, if not hundreds of players have been known to flock to spots where rare Pokémon appear with just a moment’s notice.
One Hong Kong teen reportedly took advantage of the phenomenon by sidling up to a woman while she was concentrating on catching ’em all and indecently assaulting her. The incident reportedly occurred at around 9pm on Sunday at Tin Sau Park in Tin Shui Wai, Apple Daily reports.
A 16-year-old boy sitting at the park reportedly started feeling up the thigh of a 21-year-old woman sitting next to him. When the victim stopped him a few seconds later, multiple Pokémon Go players who were also in the park surrounded the 16-year-old to prevent him from escaping.
They kept the boy there until police arrived to arrest him on suspicion of indecent assault.
