Tea Pot: Marijuana hidden in tea bags seized in Tuen Mun, man arrested

On Tuesday, the police seized 2.35 kilos of suspected cannabis buds from a 29-year-old man in Tuen Mun. The drugs have an estimated value of HKD400,000.

Customs Drug Investigation Bureau officers intercepted the man in the afternoon, finding 0.17 kilos of drugs concealed in 11 tea bags and a plastic bag.

They then searched the man’s residence, finding another 2.18 kilos of marijuana and drug packaging paraphernalia (or maybe he drinks a lot of tea?).

The man, who claimed to be a warehouse worker, was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking in a dangerous drug.

He is due to appear in court today.
