Take a second look before accepting HK$1,000 notes

Why? Because even though a significant number of fake HK$1,000 banknotes have surfaced in Hong Kong, the government has no plans to totally withdraw all the HK$1,000 notes from the Bank of China and HSBC from the 2003-series.

However, the Monetary Authority is trying to replace old and torn 2010 series HK$1,000 notes as quickly as possible, according to Secretary for Financial Services and Treasury, K C Chan.
