Parts of San Po Kong have been choked by thick clouds of smoke this afternoon from a fire at an industrial building, which forced authorities to evacuate a nearby school.
Firefighters began battling after it started at the building in King Fuk Street at about 12:15pm, according to The Standard, which reported the severity of the fire was reduced after 90 minutes.
OnTv reported the some 700 teachers and students were evacuated from a nearby school as a precaution.
A female employee at a a production company office housed inside the building was sent to hospital for treatment after breathing in smoke, the outlet reported.
Firefighters continue to work at the scene, and all lanes of King Fuk Street between Sam Chuk Street and Tseuk Luk Street are closed to traffic, the Transport Department said, according to The Standard.
Onlookers immediately took to social media to share pictures of smoke billowing into the street.
