A Hong Kong man who indecently assaulted his girlfriend – and filmed the act without her consent – has been sentenced to 28 days in prison.
Kwong Sin-ki, 21, was found guilty of one count of indecent assault last Wednesday. He was acquitted of two other charges; one of rape, and one of indecent assault.
During sentencing at High Court today, Judge Anthea Pang said Kwong’s sentence was already the most lenient penalty he deserved, HK01 reports.
Pang added that Kwong’s choice to plead not guilty meant his ex-girlfriend (identified in court as “X”) was forced to relive the ordeal by testifying in court, and watching the footage Kwong had filmed against her will in front of the jury.
On June 3, 2014, Kwong forced X to perform oral sex on him and filmed her exposed breasts while they were in a “love hotel” in Mong Kok. X is shown to be visibly distraught in the footage, and was reportedly crying uncontrollably.
In the video, Kwong can be seen repeatedly thwarting X’s attempts to cover her chest.
Kwong was also accused of raping X on the same day and indecently assaulting her on an earlier occasion, but Pang said there wasn’t sufficient evidence to corroborate the claims.
