A 47-year-old teacher and a teenage pupil were arrested on Wednesday after slugging it out at a Hong Kong secondary school.
According to Apple Daily, prior to the brawl, the pair had been discussing the student’s low attendance rate at the school, Ju Ching Chi Secondary, in Tuen Mun.
The newspaper reported that the pupil, 18, struck the first blow before the teacher returned fire with his fists.
The student was left with injuries to his face and forehead. The teacher was reportedly uninjured.

The SCMP reported that the teacher was arrested for assault occasioning actual bodily harm, while the pupil was arrested for common assault.
The pair were sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment, while police and the Education Bureau are investigating the case.
The school was founded in 1977 by late Shanghai-born tycoon Deacon Chiu Te-ke, who named it after his deceased first wife, Ju Ching-chu.
