Stress may have prompted JP Morgan manager to jump to death

Yesterday afternoon, 33-year-old Lee, an Associate of the Asia Investment Banking Billing Liaison at JP Morgan, may have jumped off the top of Chater House offices and plunged 30 floors to his death because of job stress. This is the third employee suicide for JP Morgan in the last 21 days globally. Shiver.

According to friends of Lee, whose English name is Dennis, the deceased had told them that the company was evaluating the performance of employees and he was feeling very stressed at work. Yesterday afternoon at 2pm, Lee went to work as usual but suddenly seemed agitated and ran up to the rooftop. When security guards found that the door to the rooftop was open, two security guards went to investigate, where they found Lee sitting on the edge and sighing repeatedly.

The police were called but they were unable to stop Lee from jumping. He landed on Connaught Road Central with his two mobile phones and credit cards, causing the closure of several lanes. Traffic in the area became chaotic. The police has so far been unable to contact his family.
