Story Time! Man arrested at Hong Kong airport for hiding heroin in children’s books

A 22-year-old man arriving from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was arrested at the Hong Kong Airport yesterday after customs officers found a whopping 1.8 kilos of suspected heroin in his belongings. The drugs were concealed inside the front and back hardcovers of three children’s books. Now that would have made for an interesting bedtime story…

The authorities, whose suspicions were aroused when they found abnormally heavy books in the suspect’s belongings, stated that they “believe that the books were made to avoid Customs’ detection”. Really? You think so? What a dazzling display of detective work!

The man, who claimed to be a “seaman” (chuckle, chuckle), will be charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear in court today. It is also rumoured that Walt Disney rolled in his grave (inside a cryogenic laboratory, of course).
