Still no sign of baby girl in violin case at landfill

More than 100 police officers have the gruesome task of locating the body of six-month-old Yue Hoi-ching in mountains of trash at Tseung Kwan O landfill.

According to The Standard, police say the area that the body may be possibly found is as large as a football pitch, six meters deep and surrounded by 8,000 tonnes of garbage.

10 police vans filled with officers started digging around 2:00pm yesterday and will then manually comb through the trash to look for the body. The officer-in-charge is hopeful of finding the baby’s body despite the challenge that the body has already been disposed of for a while so deterioration is likely.

Officers continue their search today.
