A village house filled with starving dogs was discovered by a neighbour in Yuen Long, where conditions were so hellish that the ground was carpeted in waste and the dogs were driven to eat each other by hunger. When they were found, five dogs had been eaten, with one dog picked clean to its skeleton, while another was trapped by a metal wire and bleeding to death.
The dogs were strays taken in by a businesswoman who locked them up in a Yuen Long village house. They were supposed to be fed and cared for by her helper, who had asked a friend to do it, but neglected to do so. When they were discovered, they had been left alone for a week.
The woman lives in Yuen Long Palm Springs and kept the dogs at four connected village houses on Kam Sheung Road, most of whom were elder strays. The helper was suppose to feed and care for the dogs everyday, and the woman visits them on the 1st and 15th of Chinese New Year. What a nightmare!
