As part of the government’s push for the public to adopt electric cars, 100 new medium chargers will be available for public use starting August 16. The new chargers are located at 16 government car parks that have 5-12 chargers each. They will be available for public use starting August 1. For a full list of locations, click here.
The medium chargers reduce the charging time by about 60% compared to regular chargers, and will be able to charge both new and older electric car that currently exist in Hong Kong.
According to an Environmental Protection Department official, there are 651 electric vehicles in Hong Kong as of the end of June 2014.
