Smile! Your ugly mug could be on chocolates or craft beer

Still racking your brains over what to get your nearest and dearest for Valentine’s Day? Why not get them some chocolates or craft beer with their face on it? Seriously, do. It will be HILARIOUS!

This rather unique concept comes to Hong Kong for the first time via “The Artist”, a Belgian brand that combines two of the country’s great gastronomers with the eternal cheesiness of customised gifts. Everyone’s got to stand out somehow, we guess.

The goodies themselves actually sound pretty top notch.

The Artist Praline Collection is crafted by sought-after celebrity chocolatier Lionel Focant, who has presented his delights to the King and Queen of Belgium, no less. Gifters can tailor-make their box from a choice of eight flavours, with sets of two starting from HKD74, going up to a bumper box of 24 for HKD518.

If your beau would prefer their mug on some quality booze, however, you can totally do that too.

Choose between Raspberry, White and Blonde beer (the latter two of which we always thought were the same thing) from master brewer Benoit Humblet. Having brewed in an abbey (like a monk) for many years, he’s now moved up to a barn on a 14th century farm (like a peasant), where he sources all local ingredients for The Artist’s Premium Beers.

So pick your amazing product on www.mrtheartist.com, spoil it with a cheesy picture or a horrible logo, and get it delivered the next business day.

Good taste and bad taste have never been so close.
