The Hong Kong Department of Health is warning consumers against purchasing and taking slimming product LAMI.
The department claims that undeclared and banned drugs in LAMI can affect and harm one’s health.
The department became aware of this when a 35-year-old woman was admitted into Queen Mary Hospital for abnormal behavior and auditory hallucination earlier in this month.
The patient claimed to have consumed LAMI and gave the Hospital Authority samples, which officials found to contain Part I poisons Sibutramine, appetitite suppressant banned in Hong Kong since Nov. 2010 and spironolactone, prescription drug to treat heart failure.
If you’re looking to lose weight, do it the healthy way – maintain a balanced diet and exercise!
