It’s nice/unnerving to know the people legally carrying guns in Hong Kong are just as forgetful as the rest of us.
The SCMP reports that a cash-delivery security guard has been suspended after leaving a loaded Remington shotgun in a KFC at Panda Place, Tsuen Wah Street, on Sunday.
According to CCTV footage, two guards entered the fast food outlet to drop off cash at 6:37pm on Sunday. The man carrying the shotgun, however, failed to leave with his lethal companion.
Worrying enough as that is, it’s perhaps even more alarming that the guard apparently didn’t notice his gun was missing until 11pm. “Now where did I put my gun?” we like to think he mused.
He also only sought help from his supervisor at around 5am yesterday morning after a fruitless search for the weapon.
A police spokesman confirmed that the gun, which had reportedly been left in the KFC manager’s office — which we suppose is better than the counter — has since been recovered.
A Guardforce spokeswoman said the officer failed to follow the rules of the safekeeping of a firearm (yeah, we reckon), but refused to comment further.
