Stamping Out Drugs: Man arrested at Hong Kong Airport after cocaine found in shoes

A 33-year-old man was arrested yesterday at Hong Kong International Airport after a kilogram of suspected cocaine was found hidden in the insoles of his shoes.

Anyone fancy sticking foot coke up their nose today?

Hong Kong Customs reports that they stopped the man – who arrived in the city from São Paulo, Brazil, (where else?) yesterday – because they “found his gait unnatural”.

Some might say unnaturally enhanced?

The accused has been charged with one count of trafficking of a dangerous drug and will appear at Tuen Mun Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

The drugs have an estimated street value of HKD900,000 (according to the police’s official dealer), with the maximum penalty being life imprisonment and a fine of HKD5 million.
