See robots do ‘the robot’ in the geekiest street dance ever at Fashion Walk

You may have seen robots doing housework (vacuum cleaners and rice cookers are robots, right?) , but have you ever seen them dance?

Chances are, you haven’t. If that’s the case, head down to Causeway Bay on Saturday Sept. 19 and Sunday Sept. 20 and witness the first ever street dance performance by globally renowned NAO robots. (Now that’s a sentence we never thought we’d write.)

The cute 58cm-tall humanoid robots, developed by French tech company Aldebaran Robotics, will be making their Hong Kong debut in the ever-innovative Fashion Walk.

Embedded with software-driven sensors and motors combined with the magic of programming and animation, the robots can walk, talk and, yep, shake what their mumma/designer gave them.

If that’s not enough of an incentive to head down, visitors will also be invited to get a little boozy with a beer-pairing workshop and blind-tasting challenge courtesy of Japanese brewery COEDO, which recently opened its first shop in Hong Kong.

Joining them in the Alcohol Olympics will be Strongbow cider, debuting its new elderflower flavour in the “Strongbow Summer Refresh Tasting Tour”.

In addition, guests can get personalised sports fashion advice at Adidas Women (like, “You should only buy Adidas sports gear”), as well as an exclusive opportunity to have a hands-on experience testing the latest Tesla models.

The two-day open-house carnival will be held over the four streets that connect Fashion Walk for the entire the weekend.
