A tussle between a married woman and a colleague that she suspected of being her husband’s mistress turned bloody last night, after the aggrieved partner produced a kitchen knife during the scuffle in Mong Kok.
The confrontation occurred last night at around 9pm, when a 41-year-old surnamed Ming, the married woman, and her colleague Wong, also aged 41, met in the lobby of a building on 11 Nelson Street, according to reports.
The on-duty security guard surnamed Chow told Apple Daily that the two women were yelling at each other, pulling each other’s hair, and one of them shouted “what are you doing seducing my husband?”
Chow told the newspaper that he did not recognise the two women, and did not realize that one of them was carrying a knife.
Police rushed to the scene, cordoned off part of the lobby that was covered in bloodied tissues, and confiscated a 20 centimeter-long fruit knife.
Ming Pao reported that Wong was taken to hospital with injuries to her hand, abdomen and face. The newspaper reported that her wounds are not life-threatening.
The suspect Ming had injuries to her head and fingers, and was arrested on suspicion of wounding.
Ming and Wong are believed to be colleagues, and Wong had been in contact with Ming’s husband. Ming began to suspect that her husband was being unfaithful.
According to RTHK, the victim was was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and the suspect was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital.
