A 43-year-old security guard died in the early hours of Tuesday after a huge gate fell on her at a car park in Yau Ma Tei.
According to Commercial Radio, the freak accident happened at the car park of the Yaumatei Maternal and Child Health Centre at around 6pm on Monday.
The security guard was trying to close the 4.7 meter by 2.5 meter iron gate when it suddenly fell on her.
She was injured in multiple places on her head and body.
Her colleagues and several passers-by worked together to lift the iron gate to rescue her.
The security guard went into a coma and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
She died of serious injuries hours later.
The radio station also said that police are investigating the case and have classified it as an industrial accident.
The area of the accident was still cordoned off on Tuesday morning.
The public can still use the entrance next to the car park to enter the maternal and child health center.
