A 65-year-old man confirmed to be infected with the H7N9 virus last week died last night around 7:00pm.
The man died less than a week after he was confirmed to be infected. He marks Hong Kong’s second death, after an 80-year-old man died on Boxing Day, and third reported case of the H7N9 infection, after 36-year-old Indonesian domestic helper was confirmed with the infection in early Dec.
It has been revealed that the man had travelled to Shenzhen a week before he was infected and five people he was in contact with remain under quarantine and 98 medical staff are under strict surveillance.
