If you’re one of the few people in Hong Kong who actually likes the Sevens because of the rugby, it’s time to start picking your winners. World Rugby has announced the pools for this year’s tournament.
In the sixth round of the HSBC 2014/2015 Sevens World Series, Fiji will head Pool A as top seeds at Hong Kong stadium on March 27-29.
After securing their second Cup win of the season at the fifth leg in Vegas (baby!), they’ll no doubt be feeling strong against pool buddies Canada, (gimme) Samoa and Belgium.
Vegas runners-up and last year’s Hong Kong Sevens champs New Zealand will head up Pool B above the likes of Australia, Scotland and Portugal, while current leaders South Africa will face Japan, France and Argentina in Pool C.
(How boring is this getting? Almost done.)
The USA will take on England Wales and Kenya in Pool D.
Hong Kong (Oh, there we are!!) will meet Mexico, Brazil and Uruguay in Pool E.
Last year’s relegated side Spain will be taking it easy with Zimbabwe, Tonga and Georgia in Pool G.
