Even though a two-metre long dolphin was rescued when it was found stranded on a beach in Sai Kung on Saturday, the dolphin died Sunday at 11:46am despite Ocean Park staff’s efforts.
Three hikers spotted the dolphin at 5pm on Saturday and at 9pm the dolphin was moved to Ocean Park for medical treatment.
An Ocean Park spokesperson told The Standard the dolphin had many visible external wounds so it could not swim or breathe on its own.
