As if Jacky Lo’s disgusting (and alleged) antics were not bad enough, Hong Kong is facing yet another dog/washing machine-related scandal. Two Hongkongers have been arrested after a video appearing to show a man putting a dog in a top-loading washing machine went viral on the internet in what could be a case of copycat dog abuse.
The 21-second YouTube clip sparked citywide outrage as the man, whose face is not shown, says, “I’m giving it a shower” before putting a super cute brown toy poodle into the tub and closing the lid. It’s unclear whether or not the machine was actually switched on, as video cuts out just as the lid goes down.
However, the real mystery lies with the person behind the camera. Certain sources report that it’s a female, while others insist that it’s a male who screams: “Are you serious? Are you crazy? You idiot!”. Whether or not this voice belongs to the other person arrested is unclear.
Apple Daily reported that the police have detained two suspects – Leung, 38, and Wong, 22 – in response to complaints filed by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). The two men were arrested early Friday morning in their flat in Mong Kok. Thankfully, the brown toy poodle in question is said to be unharmed.
In light of all the travesties that have happened in the city in the past few months, we’re really hoping for some doggy justice this time.
Earlier in the Month, someone claiming to be Hong Kong-based Chinese immigrant Jacky Lo posted numerous pictures of a dog struggling for air in a washing machine. Police are looking to talk to the teenager – who has since threatened to hurt more animals online – but he is believed to have fled to China.
