Rice paddies in the sky! Check out these mind blowing renderings of the future of Hong Kong architecture

Bored of heading to the supermarket for your supplies? This incredible futuristic architectural vision could see you harvest everything you need: energy, water…and rice, from the very building you live in!

Created by Mexico’s Studio CTC, the renderings for these two twisted skyscrapers – complete with fish farms, an algae facade (whatever that is), wind farms and rooftop rice paddies – are set in Central Hong Kong!

Also boasting skybridges between each tower, their own transport system, water filtration, recycling stations and a nuclear power plant in the basement (may want to rethink that one), these super space-age imaginings have been shortlisted for awards in the 2014 World Architecture Festival.
