Protestors stormed into Legco building over northeastern NT development plans

Protestors invaded the premises of Legco building in Admiralty yesterday, causing a number of security guards to be sent to hospital for treatment.

More than 50 activists and residents to be affected by the government’s HK$340 million development plans in the Northeastern New Territories rallied and broke pass security lines into the ground floor of the Lego building, chanting to protect their homes.

The residents have tried to force the government to scrap the plan fearful of losing their homes and that this move was their last resort, reports the SCMP
