Protestors in Hong Kong ask China to leave Vietnam

More than 200 Hongkongers, many of which are Vietnamese but residents in Hong Kong, staged a protest on Sunday asking China to leave Vietnam.

Protestors chanted Vietnamese slogans, waved the country’s flags, sang patriotic songs and told SCMP reporters that they want peace and asked the Chinese to withdraw 981 oil rig from the Vietnam sea.

Anti-China protests stemmed when China placed an oil rig in a disputed area in the South China Sea. This is the first anti-China protest in such close proximity to the mainland.
