A primary three child was sent to a hospital on Monday after his buttocks were injured by a needle planted in a bus seat, according to local media.

An HK01 report noted that the incident happened in Aberdeen on Citybus route 43M at 7:50am.

The boy was on his way to school with his mother. They were sitting in the third row on the lower deck of the bus.

His mother alerted a Citybus staff member to the incident, who later reported it to the police.

The boy told HK01 that the needle was around 3 centimeters long. He added it was “a little painful” but there was no bleeding.

According to the online news portal, this is at least the sixth such case in the past six months.

A needle was found embedded in a seat on a KMB double decker, driving the 59X route in the direction of Mong Kok East, last October.
