Police working on theory that HKD28 million kidnapping ransom is buried in Hong Kong woods

Hong Kong police are searching woodland near the Sha Tau Kok border, working on a theory that the gang who kidnapped Bossini heiress Queenie Rosita Law may have buried the HKD28 million ransom there.

Buckets and spades at the ready, guys!

The news comes a day after six men were arrested in Guangdong.

A source told the SCMP that all suspects came from Guangdong and entered Hong Kong on valid travel visas, but added it is not clear whether all are members of the core gang of six who abducted Law from her Sai King home on April 25.

“It is possible at least two of them are hiding out in woods in the Sha Tau Kok border area and looking for an opportunity to flee Hong Kong through illegal channels. We don’t rule out the possibility that they buried the ransom money somewhere in Hong Kong before splitting,” the source apparently revealed.

Law, 29, is the granddaughter of Bossini founder Law Ting-pong, who is said to have paid a HKD28 million ransom, haggled down from HKD40-50 million (there’s a reason why this guy is rich), for her safe release three days after the kidnapping.

It is believed that Law was kept in a secluded Sai King cave, not yet identified by police, while negotiations were taking place.
