An elderly woman was killed after getting struck by a van in Cheung Sha Wan yesterday at around 10:30am.
She was crossing the street at the intersection of Tonkin Street and Castle Peak Road when she was knocked down, suffering injuries to her back and her legs.
She was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital and declared dead at 11:23am.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is currently detained.
Because the woman was not carrying any ID at the time of the accident, the police have been unable to identify her.
They say she was aged between 70 and 80, 1.63 metres tall, and had grey hair.
