Police raid Mong Kok ‘speakeasy’, confiscate HKD32,000 worth of alcohol

Hong Kong police conducted a raid last night at an apartment in Nathan Road, Mong Kok, believed to be a speakeasy.

Officers, who burst into the flat at 9pm after a tip-off, arresting one woman surnamed Tse, believed to be the person running the operation, reports Ming Pao.

Twelve alleged customers between the ages of 35 to 52 were also arrested and escorted (perhaps because they couldn’t walk for themselves) to the police station to assist the investigation.

In a search of the apartment, the police confiscated an estimated HKD32,000 worth of alcohol in the form of 190 cans of beer, 22 bottles of wine, and four bottles of spirits as well as a set of chairs and glasses.

Just sounds like your average Thursday night house party to us.
