Police call for info on another male body, this time missing a finger, floating off Lantau

Hong Kong police are appealing to the public for information after a man missing a finger was found dead, floating in the sea off North Lantau.

This marks the third appeal in three weeks for information about male bodies found in the ocean in the same area.

This particular corpse, said to be of a Chinese man aged between 40 and 50, was spotted in the sea of Tai O Wing on July 12. He was brought ashore and declared dead at the scene.

Police say the man was only wearing black swimming shorts and was missing the middle finger on his right hand.

Initial investigations suggest there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, however.

The man is said to be around 1.7 metres tall, of medium build with a bald head.

Anyone with information about the deceased should call the Lantau North Police Division on (+852) 3661-1927.
