Police have arrested four men in connection with the stabbing of a man who was camping out overnight to buy concert tickets.

According to Apple Daily, a 26-year-old man surnamed Tam was arrested at an apartment block on Yiu Hing Road in Chai Wan at around 1am this morning.

A further three men — aged between 29 to 30 — were apprehended in Ngau Tau Kok, Wong Tai Sin, and Aberdeen this afternoon.

The four men were arrested on suspicion of wounding someone with intent following the stabbing of a 58-year-old mainland man surnamed Zheng who was standing in line in Chai Wan on Sunday to buy tickets for Andy Lau’s upcoming tour.

According to Apple Daily, Tam reportedly approached individuals in the queue and offered to stand in line for them. When Zheng refused to budge, he was attacked with a knife and taken to the hospital with injuries to his left ear and left arm.

According to The Standard, there was a beefed up police presence at the ticket queue in Chai Wan.

However, RTHK reported today that concert organisers have decided that in the interest of public safety, they will not sell tickets for Lau’s upcoming tour over the counter, and will only sell them either by phone or online.
