PLA holds their largest-ever live firing exercise in Hong Kong, invites public to watch

The PLA held the largest live firing exercise they’ve ever conducted in Hong Kong on Saturday. During the military drill, they pretended a group of terrorists fled into the mountains of Castle Peak, as you do.

The air force and the army used armoured cars and helicopters to blast the crap out of the “terrorists”, using machine guns, missiles, anti-tank weapons and mortars, reports the Chinese-owned CCTV.

It was the first time a military exercise had been made open to the public. Weekend family fun for all!

“Observers say this was to let Hong Kong residents know more about the army and assure them of its ability to safeguard the region’s security,” wrote CCTV.

Here’s the state broadcaster’s riveting account of what happened during the drill: “Six helicopters carry out a coordinated patrol. They fire once the terrorists appear. Machine gun fire and missiles hit the targets precisely. It’s a successful operation.”

Hurrah! China wins! Terrorism loses! Are you not assured?!

“This exercise carries the mission of defending Hong Kong and fighting external invasion,” said PLA HK Garrison Deputy Commander Li Weiya.

God forbid we get invaded!
