Where Hongkongers get trashed, come daybreak is literally filled with trash.
The Sun found that restaurants and bars are irresponsibly disposing trash onto the streets when the party is over. Rubbish bags are usually not properly sealed, so crap inside the bags leak onto the pavement. The worst of it is on Lyndhurst Terrace, Staunton Street and Wellington Street – the main clubbing/bar area.
The amount of trash that accumulates and left on the streets after the parties in the Lan Kwai Fong and Soho area is a major hygiene problem and residents nearby are fed up with the crap and the smell of waste
The District Council member claims that the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department is not enforcing the law properly, rarely warning or fining restaurants that are throwing their waste everywhere, violating the law.
