The Consumer Council found yesterday that two of the city’s largest supermarket chains have been engaging in anti-competitive behavior.
The two supermarkets, Park N’shop and Wellcome combined own more than 62 per cent share of food related retailing in the Hong Kong market.
According the Council’s watchdog, the supermarkets have been imposing harsh conditions on suppliers to manipulate prices, thus, causing a negative impact on consumers.
